GLL Community Development ethos is about building active and sustainable communities based on social justice and mutual respect. We strive to bring about a change in structures to remove the barriers that prevent people from participating in the issues that affect their lives.

GLL has a team of Community Development Officers whose role is to act as a link between communities, our local government partners and other statutory bodies.
Our joint corporate ambition is around social and sporting inclusion
- To help make London and South East more active, developing strategies to increase participation in sport and physical activity in all age ranges and in all parts of the community
- To be a successful business with inherent social and environmental responsibility

GLL has grown from strength to strength by working in partnership with local authorities, public agencies, sporting organisations and local communities. With over 70 leisure centres, 3,500 staff and more than 12 million visits a year, GLL makes a difference to the quality of local peoples lives by encouraging ''''active lifestyles''''.

inclusive LONDON
Giving disabled users access to 30 GLL centres across 5 Olympic and Paralympic Boroughs.
Customers will be able to join inclusive LONDON from Saturday 24 July at one of the leisure centres from the boroughs listed below for a special introductory offer of £19.95 per month.

Service Update
Due to the Government withdrawing its funding to Councils for the Swim4Life free swimming programme (16 and under and over 60s), the Government scheme will cease on 31 July 2010. Some Councils are choosing to continue to fund free swimming in their areas. Please visit the Borough page to see if the scheme is continuing.
